CNA sports brief: Bamboutos FC to play champions trophy instead of PWD
The 2022-2023 football season opens this October 12 2022 with the Cameroon Super Cup dubbed “The Champion’sTrophy.” This trophy battle will oppose the 2022 league winners to the 2022 cup winners. Given that Bamboutos FC of Mbouda will play the cup finals come October 2nd against Coton Sports of Garoua who are current league winners, FECAFOOT has announced that Bamboutos will have to play the Super Cup no matter the Cameroon Cup 2022 result.
The announcement was made in a release signed by the Secretary General of FECAFOOT Blaise Djounang, last September 23. This decision comes 2 days after the fedreation had announced PWD of Bamenda (2021 Cup winners) as participants of the Champions Trophy 🏆.
Interpools 2022
Aigle of Moungo are champions of the 2022 interpools competition that ended in Limbe on Sunday September 25.
The team defeated Victoria United on Penalty shootout on a 4-1 score at the Limbe centenary stadium.
Both teams have qualified for the league two championship.
World volleyball Championship
The national volleyball lionesses have bowed to the Netherlands in a zero set to 3 defeat. This was the team’s second outing at the ongoing world volleyball championship taking place in the Netherlands and Poland.
They have now lost 2 games in a row. Their third game will be played this September 27th and will oppose them to Kenya.
RUGBY
The rugby lionesses of Cameroon are currently in camp in the town of Akono, centre region of Cameroon.
They are preparing for an AFCON qualification tournament that will be played in Yaounde which will oppose them to Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso as from November 2-13 2022.
