New Football season calendar in Cameroon

The 2022-2023 local league one championship begins on October 15th 2022 in Douala, FECAFOOT has announced.

Previously scheduled to begin of October 13th, the Secretary General of the nation’s football governing body has in a release dated October 5th, revealed some readjustments on the calendar as follows:

October 15th, start of the 2022-2023 league one championship in Douala.

October 22nd in Bafoussam, Champions Trophy between Bamboutos FC of Mbouda and Coton Sports of Garoua at the Bafoussam Omnisports Stadium.

October 29th, start of the 2022-2023 league two championship coupled with the Ballon d’or ceremony in Yaounde.

October 30th, match between the U23 Lions of Cameroon and Angola.

FIFA Coca-Cola Rankings

After losing two games in a row against Uzbekistan 0-2 and South Korea 0-1, the indomitable lions of Cameroon have lost 5 places on the FIFA World Rankings as revealed on Thursday October 6, 2022.

The team has regressed from the 38th spot it occupied previously to the the 43rd spot. On the African continent, Senegal still tops the chart as the best football nation followed by Morocco and Tunisia.

Cameroon major world cup rival, Brazil continues to dominate World football as it maintains its position as the best football nation, followed by Belgium and Argentina.

Chantal Biya international cycling tour

French cyclist, Damien Lapouges has won the third lap of the Chantal Biya international cycling tour from Yaounde to Nkolandom covering a 161,4 Km distance in 3h46’47” on October 6.

He is now second on the general classification table with Mansouri Islam still holding firm to the yellow jersey.

Artuce Tella of SNH Velo club on his part has overthrown Kamzong Abossolo to be the best Cameroonian on the general classification table after he emerged second in the third lap this Thursday. He covered the 161,4km distance in 3h46’49”, just 2 seconds from the lap winner.
Artuce Tella is now 3rd on the general classification table with 22 seconds from the Yellow jersey.

The second but last lap takes place this Friday, October 7, 2022 from Ebolowa to Sangmelima covering a distance of 114 km.

Handball Playoffs

The final phase of the National Elite Championship dubbed “Playoffs” takes place from October 16th to October 20th in Yaounde as announced by the Cameroon Handball Federation in a release.

The playoffs will determine Cameroon’s league winners of the season.

FANZ of Yaounde
Dynamique of Bokito
TKC of Yaounde

Men’s category

FAP of Yaounde
YUC of Yaounde
FANZ of Yaounde
MINUH of Yaounde

Technical managers of qualified teams are expected to hold the tournament’s technical meeting on October 15, at FECAHAND headquarters in Yaounde.
