Cameroon Ballon d’Or: Full details on 2023 edition

In a press conference held on Monday, December 4 in Yaounde aimed at shedding light on the 2023 edition of the Ballon d’Or award, the Cameroon Football Federation provided an elabourate plan on how the award has been programmed to unfold.
According to Frank Happi, the president of football development at the Cameroon Football Federation, the 2023 Ballon d’Or will recognize the best of the best in the male, female, and special categories with awards set aside for the best goalkeeper, top scorer, club of the season, coach of the season, referee of the season, and assistant referee of the season in both male and female categories.
The special category will also see teams recognized for their fair play and club of the season, with the award for best goal of the season rounding off the list of honors handed out.
To get to the final stage of the Ballon d’Or award selection process, each club will submit a list of players selected by team captains and coaches from the Elite One and Two championships plus the GUINNESS Super League.
The selection process itself sees a long journey with up to five stages before the final award ceremony which takes place on December 16 2023 in Yaounde.
“We have brought so many innovations in this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony including lodging of all the nominees before the ceremony. We have also made it available to all players playing at the Elite level in Cameroon” said Frank Happi, the FECAFOOT head of football development.
