UMS Loum unbothered by “threats” from transitional council

Union des Mouvements Sportives (UMS) Loum, through its Secretary General, Tchungno Joseph, has rubbished a communique from FECAFOOT’s Transitional Council of Professional Football (CTFP), threatening to have the league one club punished for making statements considered tarnishing to the image of the Cameroon Football Federation.

This comes as part of the twists and turns surrounding an initial decision taken by the two-time Cameroon champions to withdraw from the league one competition over non-respect of financial obligations by FECAFOOT.

“We saw your correspondence on social media through which you sent threats to the President General of UMS” Tchungo Joseph said in a statement addressed to the Secretary General of the Transitional Council Faustin Blaise Mbida.

“I want you to understand that first of all, you are incompetent to file a complaint against the President General of our team, member of the executive committee of FECAFOOT” the UMS SG added.

“If you go ahead to send similar correspondences to us, we will be obliged to take you to a law court, because you are violating FECAFOOT statutes” he warned, highlighting that FECAFOOT owes UMS F CFA 62 million from awards and unpaid subventions.

It is worth noting that despite announcing their withdrawal from the league one championship, UMS played the day 12 encounter scheduled against Stade Renard on February 12, to the surprise of the public. The Loum side secured a 2-1 victory taking the lead in group A with 20 points.
