Bamboutos in serious management crisis

Cameroon Cup finalist, Bamboutos of Mbouda are in serious management crisis just days ahead of their clash which could bring in their first Cameroon cup trophy.

Just a day after the club grabbed a ticket for the final of the Cameroon Cup 2022, Justin Tagouh, former Board Chair of the club made two outings accusing the current staff of mismanaging funds prompting him to appoint new people to run the affairs of the club. A double outing that has since then been considered by many observers as a way of destabilizing the club. They add that a good board chair cannot be making such changes with little time left to their final clash and also their shot at making club history.

Reacting to this, the SDO for Bamboutos and supporters of Bamboutos FC have come out publicly to counter attack the decisions of Justin Tagouh.

This August 2nd 2022, the Senior Divisional Officer for Bamboutos François Franquelin Etapa in a release has condemned what he terms “inappropriate, illegitimate and illegal outings” and such documents, he insists, are not welcome considering the author has no quality to sign on behalf of the club. In the same light, the SDO says supporters should not relent efforts but put their trust in the management team chosen during the elective general assembly of the club that held in December 2021.

Still in reaction to the outing of former Board Chair, the Association of Supporters of Bamboutos FC (ASB), in another release dated August 2nd also condemn the decision and tell supporters commenting on such distractive and inappropriate outings to focus on the challenge that awaits the club in the days ahead.

Let’s recall that Cyrille Bojiko, head of the marketing and communication department of the team has resigned saying the team’s opponent in the days ahead will not be Coton, but the team itself.

We should note that the club before reaching this level, witnessed a serious management crisis that necessitated the intervention of the SDO. The elective general assembly of December 2021 permitted the team to start things afresh and the management staff of the club automatically took over from the then transitional bureau.
