Another student stabbed in Edea

The trend of violence in schools is still unfortunately on the rise in Cameroon.

Edea is the most recent town of the occurrence this May 11 morning. A student from the Saint Odile secondary school whose name CAN got only as Makon stabbed another student in the class of seconde (the equivalent of form 5) called Laurent Kingmo. A telephone is at the centre of their argument this May 11 morning. Laurent says his attacker forcely took a telephone belonging to him from a young lady in the school. He had gone to claim his property when a fight broke out and he received a knife in his back.

Rushed to the annex of the Edea regional hospital, medical personnel were able to save his life. The attacker, Makon is in the hands of security forces.

This is the second attack within 24 hours. The last occurred after a lower sixth science student of Government Bilingual High School Bafoussam, Francois Xavier Ghoda, was fatally stabbed in his back on his way home from school after writing an examination
