AFCON 2023 Kicks off with spectacular Opening ceremony

Ivory Coast opened the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Abidjan.
The event kicked off with a showcase of cultural performances, which featured traditional dancers and acrobatics. The performances were followed by musical acts from Dadju, TAYC, and Yemi Alade, who thrilled the crowd with their electrifying performances.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the AFCON team song Akwaba by popular Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade who had the crowd on their feet as she performed.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is the 34rd edition of the tournament and will be held between January 13 and February 11, featuring 24 teams from across the continent.
The opening ceremony was a fitting start to what promises to be an exciting tournament. Football fans across the continent will be eagerly anticipating the action that will take place on the pitch, as some of Africa’s best teams battle it out to be crowned champions of Africa.
