MTN Elite One Transfer News: Coach Less And Searching Colombe Of Dja Lines Up Options
Tiko, Cameroon-Friday November 24, 2017-10:30 AM Local Time (Cameroon News Agency) The departure of Olivier Nankam from Colombe of Dja earlier last week has left the club in an unwanted situation of getting a replacement for coach they would have preferred.
Nankam who guided the lone elite one club from the south region to an 11th place finish with 43 points(12 wins,7 draws and 15 defeats) last season, re-baptizing the likes of goalkeeper Jean Efala Konguep, Banga Bienvenue step down this week sitting personal reasons though interest from elsewhere for his service is widely reported.
Colombe started pre season training a week ago without a coach and last Tuesday reports from within the club emerge that the club is willing to offer a huge sum of money plus salary to get the services of Sango Emmanuel Doumbe Likumba Bosso current coach of YOSA.
Doumbe Bosso who won the cup of Cameroon with YOSA Bamenda during his first spell at the club in 2013 helped YOSA to a 6th place finish last season and to the cup of Cameroon semi finals.
The Sawa born “Sango” now better referred to as “Ni” due to his bond with Bamenda would need something special to lure him away.
Colombe are out looking for experience and stability after using 3 coaches last season and a choice of Doumbe (6 times finalist of the cup of Cameroon with 3 winners medal plus a winners medal of the cup of Cameroon as a player with Union sportive Douala) is certainly one worth considering and investing huge resources in especially given the near guarantee of success
Doumbe Bosso has equally held talks with Astres of Douala and Cup of Cameroon finalist UMS Loum.
YOSA’s president “Yong Junior” certainly has his work cut out this close season as his star men Doumbe Bosso(Coach),Awono Junior Junior(Captain and arguably player of the just ended season),Mbem Leopold(Deputy best goalkeeper in the just ended league one season) and full back Eric Joel Tiencheu have being subjects of intense speculation on offers to take them away from the “Abakwa”.**Center back Stephane Pauline Meyoupo left YOSA for league one champions Eding FC of lekie last week
As a second option, Colombe’s board have line up a foreign coach possibly a Swiss as the next best alternative should they fail to attract the current YOSA Boss
Colombe search for a new manager continues but one thing is certain “If the club wants what she has never had(Sustained success) then she has got to do what she has never done(Spend more than the big clubs in the land) ”
