Samuel Eto’o summoned by CAF investigation panel for alleged favoritism
FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o, has been summoned by the investigation panel of the Confederation of African Football (CAF)
Eto’o will be expected in Cairo Egypt on Wednesday April 17 to defend himself from allegations of favouritism towards certain local teams in Cameroon.
According to reports from Africa Intelligence, Suspicions are focused on Victoria United of limbe, champions of the 2022-2023 season in the Elite Two championship in Cameroon whose president, Valentin Nkwain, is close to Samuel Eto’o.
This brings up the allegations back in 2023 where a voicemail of the Fecafoot president and Victoria United president was circulated on social media.
However, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold with the call coming at a delicate moment when Samuel Eto’o is just returning from his father’s burial.
The Fecafoot president still has an unsettled tension with the ministry of sports concerning the appointment of Marc Brys as the coach of the Indomitable Lions, adding to the ongoing playoffs of the elite one championship.
