Mbankomo: pastor accused of raping boys awaits judgement
A man in his 30s named Nestor Ava is being detained at the Ngoumou prison in the Centre region over accusations of pedophilia.
Reports from inhabitants of the Commercial 1 neighborhood say the pastor officiating at the Bethesda Restoration Centre in Mbankomo had been making sexual advances to younger boys who worshiped at the church. “I recall I cautioned my younger brother against going to that church because I did not like the ways of that pastor,” an inhabitant said.
It is alleged, Nestor Ava used a drug called Tramadol and other drugs to weaken his victims before abusing them sexually. Dr. Derrick Ntah working at the Mbankomo district hospital disclosed he received three cases:
“When the three boys came, one had an anus all red and soaking while two others clearly showed proof of force on their posterior… Medically, to test if an anus has been brutalised, we insert the finger. If the anus contracts during the process, all is well but with these boys the anus was wide open.”
The suspect is said to have attempted this act on another who was saved by his friend with whom he went to meet pastor Ava after several chats on Facebook. The teenager was reportedly promised a laptop, an iPhone and F CFA 50.000 for his silence in vain.
Pastor Nestor Ava who confessed “I am attracted to men… Women don’t move me” at the Mbankomo territorial brigade upon his arrest, is awaiting court judgement as his first hearing was adjourned to December 12 2023.
