Nso boyz express manager reveals cause of fire on bus in Bamenda

The Manager of the Nso Boyz inter-urban travel agency has explained the cause of the fire on one of the company’s buses at the City Chemist neigborhood, along the Food Market road in Bamenda at about 8:00pm on Thursday October 27.

According to the Manager whose name CNA got as Sam, three armed men onboard a motorcycle stormed the agency’s head office and pulled out the security guard who was sleeping on the bus threatening to shoot him. He managed to run for his life. It was then the armed men poured fuel in and on the 70 seater bus and set it on fire.

“The bus did not go up in flames on its own. Three armed men who arrived onboard a motorbike set it ablaze after threatening to shoot the night watchman. They left immediately without firing any shot. Few people were still around at the time of the incident. They struggled to put out the flames to no avail,” explained the Manager of the Nso Boyz Express.

The manager also explained that firefighters who were contacted could unfortunately not arrive on time because of exchange of gunshots around the “Newlay Out” neighborhood.

He confirmed no life was lost – only the bus parked at the park got burnt and no luggage was inside.

Questioned why the agency was targeted the manager said he does not know why and who the attackers could actually be.
