Student collapses and dies during PE in school
Students and teachers of Government High School Bagangte, in the Nde division of the West region, are still in shock following the sudden deaath of a student of the institution.
The student reportedly collapsed during sports exercises on the school campus last September 26th:
“I was in class when other students came calling that my brother was dying” Jordan, elder brother of the victim narrates.
School authorities say the medical team of the chool started giving him the medical help they could while in the vehicle which was transporting him to the hospital but he unfortunately died in spite of this.
The deceased student’s mother says her child had not portrayed any sickness prior to his death:
“My son left with his brother and friends for school this morning. He did not even tell me they had sports in school today but he was very healthy when he left” she laments.
The student will be buried by the end of this week.
The West regional delegate for secondary education while the regional delegate for secondary education has extended his condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of secondar education minister Nalova Lyonga and has also declared that an investigation will be carried out to determine the exact cause of this death.
