Yaounde: Father Admits Assaulting Own Daughter

The victim is an 18-year-old girl who was raised by her mother only in Douala. With the death of her mum five years ago, the young girl decided to move into her father’s house (a man she had never lived with until then) in the Mimboman neighborhood in Yaounde.

Only a few months after, the girl contacts her maternal family with complaints of repeated rape and sodomy perpetrated by her biological father whose name CNA got as Kenmogne Vincent. She also explained that he regularly gave her the pill to avoid pregnancy.

Questioned by the young girl’s maternal family, Vincent admits his guilt. In a handwritten letter, he apologizes to his daughter and promises to atone for his crime by offering animals, cooking oil, and a bag of salt for cleansing.

This story has outraged many who believe that no form of negotiation should be allowed for people who commit such horrendous crimes
