Yaoundé: Top Police Official Sacked for Transforming Office to Porn Hub

The acting Regional Delegate for National Security in the Centre region, Divisional Commissioner Ossomo Josué, has been dismissed after videos showing explicit sexual acts filmed in his office went viral on social media.
The widely condemned footage depicts two women believed to be police officers engaging in intimate acts on a couch inside the commissioner’s office. A male voice, suspected to be that of Ossomo Josué himself, can be heard in the background, possibly filming the scene from his office chair. One of the videos is time-stamped June 20, 2025.
The footage shows wine glasses on the office table, official files, and a framed photograph of the President of the Republic hanging on the wall, identifying the setting as an administrative office. Among those allegedly involved is Police Officer Christelle Eboa, assigned to Central Police Station No. 1 in Yaoundé, alongside an unidentified female police commissioner.
Following the video’s circulation on the night of July 29, the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguelé, took swift action. Ossomo Josué was immediately relieved of his duties and replaced by another Divisional Commissioner who was officially installed on July 30. Reports suggest that the officers involved in the video have been arrested.
The incident has sparked outrage across the country, with many seeing it as a symbol of moral decline and institutional rot within the national police force, already viewed by many as one of the most corrupt in Cameroon.
Political analyst David Eboutou reacted strongly: “These police officers missed their calling. These images resemble scenes from adult films. What a disgrace.” He exclaimed in a Facebook post.
Journalist Paul Chouta also criticized the incident, denouncing what he termed “widespread institutional hypocrisy.”
While the scandal has sparked debates about morality and professionalism within public service, the fact that the acts involved same-sex intimacy filmed in a government office could significantly worsen the legal consequences for those involved.
Same-sex relations remain illegal in Cameroon, punishable by up to five years in prison under the country’s penal code.
Ossomo and all women who were seen in the video were arrested and ferried to the Special Operation Unit of the Police, GSO.
