Yaounde: Man murdered by his wife’s lover

The victim who had been married for 10 years to his wife and living in Odza, a vicinity in Yaounde, was killed with a machete by his rival who just happened to be their neighbour.

Both men engaged in a brawl after the deceased who had left for work returned to find his neighbour and his wife on their matrimonial bed. Amidst the tension, the adulterer used a machete to kill the husband and escaped leaving a widow behind.

Gendarmes arrived the scene just on time to save the woman who almost suffered mob action while a manhunt has been launched to catch the murderer.

The Odza vicinity in Yaounde has been noted for such happenings. In 2021, a man named Seraphin Désiré Bete Amougou was suspected of killing his wife over alleged infedility.
