West: regional delegate for secondary education says canteens must be safe for children
What children eat in schools and where they ease themselves can expose them to severe health problems. In the West region, the delegation for secondary education is taking measures to ensure children are safe in schools.
Traders in school canteens will henceforth present a medical certificate done at a competent school health facility or at a recognized laboratory showing they are disease-free before being granted access to campus.
This decision is contained in a correspondence signed by the regional delegate for secondary education, François Ngabnya, and addressed to school heads and to divisional delegates for secondary education in his area of command.
This measure he says is to protect children from diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, Hepatitis, Covid19 and intestinal parasitosis.
In a another release still dated Monday October 10, the regional delegate gives a deadline of October 31st for schools to submit their computer and toilet management contracts at the regional delegation for secondary education.
Control teams will will be deployed to various schools to ensure the respect of the measures taken in the two letters.
