West Region: Three-year-old girl reunites with parents four months after her kidnapping

A three-year-old child, kidnapped four months ago allegedly by a 24-year-old lady called Tchatchouang Carelle has been reunited with her parents in Baham, Upper Plateau Division of the West region.

The suspected kidnapper, presented to the population at the esplanade of the West Judicial police on November 14, 2023, was sent back to her cell for a subsequent appearance before the state prosecutor.

Carelle allegedly justified her action to an inability to conceive. Police investigation revealed this was a repeated act.

Police officers cautioned parents to be very careful with their children, especially during this period of end-of-year festivities.

“I call on parents to double their vigilance because we have noticed that kidnapping is rampant everywhere in our cities these days”. Warned, Divisional police commissioner, Jeanine Donfack.

It should be recalled, that 24-year-old Carelle was arrested in Douala four months after the kids.
