West region: 9 year old dies after consuming Cassava

As hundreds of thousands of students and pupils in Cameroon resumed claases on Monday for the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, Kuere Allan mysteriously passed unto glory in Mbouda town, in the Bamboutos.

The 9-year old reportedly died and four of his brothers in a critical situation after consuming cassava in the early hours of Monday September 4, 2023.

The cause of his death remains unknown but according to medics from the Lepi health facility still in Mbouda, the child had severe anemia and malaria that was in a critical situation.

The 4 others are being were immediately transported to the center for medical attention.

It was also said that the Cassava provoked the illness.
