The new feed production plant was inaugurated this August 24th in Bafoussam by the minister of livestock, fisheries and animal industries Dr Taïga.

The plant owned by the Feed Mill production Company of Cameroon (SPC) has a daily production capacity of 300 tons and is thus expected to put an end to scarcity of day-old chicks in the region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the ministers of trade Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana and of Agriculture and rural development Gabriel Mbairobe who all expressed satisfaction with the project.

Dr Taïga also visited a newly created hatchery in Bandjoun, Koung-Khi division, whose weekly production capacity stands at 720 000 day old chicks: enough to satisfy local demand.
