“We are here to steal points” – Namibia coach

Collin Benjamin, head coach of the Brave Warriors of Namibia, has said the respect they have for Cameroon, will not prevent them from grabbing points for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier that will oppose both sides this March 24th.

Ranked 113th on the FIFA classification against Cameroon 33rd, coach Collin noted that he is aware of what awaits them. “We know about Cameroon, we also know of the situation.”

“Our mission is to steal points. We want to be with the big boys when the nations’ cup will start next year. To be with the big boys, you have to challenge the big boys, and we have the best possible team,” he added.

“There are three teams and two in the group will go through. We brought the best guys that we could put together, that are hungry, that are boiling with ambition, that want to prove themselves.”

Group C is made up of Cameroon, Namibia, Burundi, and Kenya but Kenya will not participate due to a suspension.

The Indomitable Lions will set out for the game against Namibia in Yaounde, as group leaders with three points. Rigobert Song said during the pre-match press conference said that there is no pressure.

“The rhythm that I have today is different from that which I had when I was just appointed with the world cup immediately in front of me. Now, there is no pressure,” Song assured.

The match will be played at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, from 9:30 pm local time.
