Volleyball: Kenya grabs 10th continental title

The Volleyball Lionesses of Cameroon have finished third at the just ended African Nations’ Championship that rounded up this August 24 2023 at the Yaounde multipurpose sports complex.
Coached by Peter Nonnenbroich, the ladies defeated Rwanda 3 sets to 1 to grab bronze.
Kenya on her part succeeded to get a 10th continental trophy after beating Egypt at the final by 3 sets to nil. Kenya in this way, grabs the lone African qualification ticket to the 2024 Olympic games in Paris, France.
In terms of individual distinctions:
24-year old Sharon Chepchumba Kiprono of Kenya got the Most Valued Player award of the competition.
Cameroonian Adiana Estelle was distinguished as the Best Attacker of the competition.
Best Passer – Misoki Emma culte of Kenya
Best Libero – Essa Nadia of Egypt
Best Setter – Munezero Valentine of Rwanda
Best Opposite Hitter – Mercy Moim of Kenya
Best Middle Blocker – Ahmed Aya of Egypt.
Stéphanie Fotso and Adiana Estelle are the two Cameroonians who feature in the team of the tournament made up of 3 Kenyans, 2 Egyptians and a Rwandan.
