Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen, has through his agent Roberto Calenda, disclosed that they “reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor”, following a TikTok video shared by his club Napoli, seemingly mocking the player.
The video which was deleted moments later, showed Victor’s penalty miss in the 0-0 tie against Bologna on Sunday, with a sped-up high-pitched voice used as he called for the spot kick to be given.
“What happened on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable” Calenda said on Tuesday.
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news” the footballer’s agent added.
Th 24-year-old who helped the Serie A side win their first championship title in over three decades by scoring 31 goals across all competitions last season, has received massive support from fans, who are showing deep concern through messages online.
No statement acknowledging the video, has been made by the club.
Osimhen has deleted Napoli-related pictures from his Instagram account, following the incident.
He joined the club for a record 81.3m euros in 2020, and has recently been heavily linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.
