US should execute international warrant arrest against Ambazonia leaders- Joshua Osih
The member of Parliament and first National Vice President of the SDF party, Hon Joshua Osih reiterated the parliament’s position concerning leaders of armed groups operating in the North West and South West Regions.
Hon Osih was part of a group of parliamentarians who responded to a US Senate resolution, calling on both parties to have meaningful dialogue that will end the armed conflict in Anglophone regions.
“The United States must implement the international arrest warrants issued by the State of Cameroon to put the financiers of “Ambazonian” Terrorism out of harm’s way, this is the role of the Parliament and the Parliamentarian who represents the Sovereignty of our Country “
Hon Joshua Osih, June 19, 2022
On August 10, 2019, the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party, said that President Paul Biya’s declaration of war on Anglophone separatists has led to indiscriminate killings, mass destruction, rights abuses, and displacement. The NEC said if the conflict is not resolved, “there shall be big regret of separation of Cameroon”.
In November 2017, members of Parliament of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement Political party, CPDM, walked out of a plenary session held at the Glass House in Yaoundé Thursday, November 23 after opposition Social Democratic Front MPs demanded the Anglophone crisis rocking the two English speaking regions be included on the agenda.
November 2021, 614 members of the European Union Parliament voted in favor, 32 against, and 40 abstentions, in the peaceful resolution of the armed conflict in Anglophone regions. “Parliament urges both the Cameroonian government and the political and military leaders of separatist groups to agree on a humanitarian ceasefire and encourages the parties to the conflict to agree on confidence-building measures, such as freeing non-violent political prisoners and lifting school boycotts.” a statement read.
But Honorable Osih speaking as a guest on a Sunday program on Canal 2 International, said the leaders of these armed groups must be repatriated to Cameroon. He said the situation is critical to the point that even the families and villages of the leaders are being attacked by the same men they are sending money to.
