US-Based Pharmacist Launches 45-Day Prayer and Humanitarian Campaign Ahead of Papal Visit

Bamenda – A United States-based pharmacist with deep family roots in Bayelle has launched a 45-day Humanitarian awareness campaign ahead of the Pope’s upcoming visit, calling for peace, justice, protection of civilians, and a dignified reception of the Holy Father.

Dr. Emmanuel Nji Tita, a Florida-based healthcare professional, licensed Real Estate Broker and entrepreneur, confirmed to CNA that the campaign will run from now until the day of the papal visit.

“This is not about politics,” Dr. Tita said. “It is about human life. It is about protecting innocent civilians and using this sacred moment to call for peace and Justice.”

Dr. Emmanuel Nji Tita is the first great-grandson of the first catechist of the Bayelle Catholic Mission Church Late Pa Simon Ndeso, one of the early figures who helped establish Catholic worship in the area. He described the campaign as both a spiritual obligation and a humanitarian appeal.

Over the past several years, parts of the region have witnessed killings, displacement of families, destruction of villages, and reported abuses affecting women and children. Thousands remain displaced, and many communities continue to live in insecurity.

“As a pharmacist and healthcare provider, my profession is rooted in preserving life,” he said.

“When communities are wounded, when women and children suffer, silence is not an option. This campaign is a call to prayer, but it is also a call to protect the vulnerable.”

According to Dr. Tita, the 45-day initiative will focus on:

Encouraging daily prayer for peace, justice and protection of civilians.

Promoting calm and unity ahead of the Pope’s visit.

Urging residents to receive the Holy Father peacefully.

Highlighting humanitarian concerns affecting displaced families.

He emphasized that there should be no disruption or tension during the papal visit.

“There must be no Lockdown” Dr. Tita stated. “The Holy Father should be welcomed with dignity. Let this visit be remembered as a moment of unity, reflection, and healing.”

He added that faith institutions historically serve as moral anchors during times of crisis.

“The Church has always defended human dignity,” he said. “This visit is an opportunity to reaffirm that commitment and to stand clearly for the protection of innocent lives.”

As preparations continue for the papal arrival, Dr. Tita says his campaign aims to ensure that the visit becomes a turning point toward peace, justice and humanitarian concern.

“Our message is simple,” he concluded. “Protect life. Pray for peace and justice. Welcome the Holy Father with respect.”
