UMAC ministerial committee chairman suspends BEAC recruitment exams
The Chairman of the Ministerial Committee of the Monetary Union of Central Africa (UMAC), Hervé Ndoba has instructed the governor of Bank of Central African States,BEAC, to immediately suspend the recruitment exercise of the institution’s senior management agents.
This order given directly to Mahamat Abbas Toli stems from different sources who claim that the recruitment procedure organized by BEAC has been marred by significant incidents and irregularities likely to alter its credibility.
“I did not think it necessary to follow up on this information because I am convinced that, for an area relating to the daily management of the bank and the prerogatives of its government, you would take all appropriate measures to restore the necessary reliability of this process” the UMAC boss said.
“Mr. Governor of BEAC, it has reached me that the publication of the first results of this competition brings to light situations and examples of which it is certain, at the very least, that they undoubtedly and seriously harm the image of the bank, forcing me to act as President of two of the structures constituting the decision-making bodies of the issuing institution, whose image constitutes its most fundamental asset”. Mr. NDOBA added.
According to the UMAC Ministerial Committee Chairman still, recruitment of unqualified agents into BEAC will contribute to ruining the establishment.
” I remind you that the integration of the most qualified human resources, in order to live up to the tasks devoted to them at the central bank by the CEMAC Heads of State, must obey imperatives necessarily combining merit, equal opportunities, transparency and permanent requirement of competence” he stressed.
While instructing the Governor of BEAC to suspend the integration process, Mr. NDOBA reminds him that an in-depth assessment will be made by the BEAC Board of Directors and the Ministerial Committee of UMAC.
