The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the 11-month visa ban on Nigerian travelers as Etihad, Emirates Airlines resumes flight to Nigeria.
This was on Monday September 11, 2023 after Nigerian President Bola Tinubu met with UAE president, Mohamed Bin Zeyed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi for landmark deals.
The Guardian Newspaper reported that, Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement said the president of Nigeria and the UAE ruler met to finalize the historic agreement which has resulted in the immediate cessation of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers.
“Furthermore, by this historic agreement, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to immediately resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria, without any further delay,” Ngelale is reported to have said.
On October 2022, United Arab Emirates, (UAE) put a compulsory visa ban on Nigerians who want to visit Dubai.
