Two students who drowned in Limbe buried at public cemetery

A correspondent who hinted CNA newsroom of the incident said according to the Bakweri tradition, anyone who dies in the sea or river is buried beside the site of the incident.

But the two students of GHS Bonjo who went swimming on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Limbe Sea were buried at the Limbe 1 Cemetery.

“The Divisional Officer and Mayor of Limbe 3 all came to the site where their bodies were retrieved but they could not be buried there because the person who owns the land refused.” A source said.

The students were three but some members of the Rapid Intervention battalion rescued one and took him to the hospital.

Two others drowned and their corpses were only retrieved early Wednesday.

GHS Bonjo is located in Essele village around the vicinity fo the BIR training centre in Man O War bay, South West region.
