Two fake military personnel caught by authorities

Their ways of working caught the attention of more than one. Nobody could understand the terminology they used or even their general demeanor.

One of them was in Nomayos in the Mefou – et – Akono division and harbored the colors of the army. The man said to be in his late 20s or early 30s was in the habit of harassing motorcycle riders asking that they give him a customary bribe or lose their bikes and other identification documents. Questioned where he got his equipment, he vaguely states that he picked them from here and there.

The second man found and arrested by authorities was in Libamba in the Nyong et Kelle division. 47-year-old Ndongo Yves chose the grade of colonel of the army to terrorize the population. The native of Sangmelima is said to have convinced the villagers that he had been specially deployed by the government to fight the high level of corruption and theft in the community.

The Makak brigade commander says he is in their cells waiting to be transferred to the Kondengui central prison of Yaounde pending trial.
