Touristique Bus accident: Passengers contradict manager on cause of accident

Contrary to a communique from the management of Touristique transport company, that its bus suffered brake failure before hitting an incoming truck, passengers said the driver was reckless.

“He was driving at high speed, we asked him to slow down but he instead increased the volume of the radio and tried to overtake a truck,” a passenger narrated.

But the General Manager of Touristique express, whose bus with registered number, Lt. 426 QH said it had brakes failure and crashed at Falaise de MBE in Nagaoundere-Adamawa region on Wednesday August 9 while heading towards Garoua.

He also disclosed that seven (7) passengers died and 16 injured.

He added in a communiqué that immediate actions were taken to evacuate the injured persons to the Nagaoundere Regional Hospital and the agency in close contact with relatives to ensure quick recovery of their loved ones.

He also addressed hisbheart felt condolences to the families.

Meantime, the Governor of the Adamawa region while on the scene minutes after the accident to take stock of the situation, cautioned drivers to be more prudent when descending the said Falaise de MBE to avoid a repeat of same incident.
