Nchendzengang Tatah

Sixty two bags of marijuana costing about 400 million lie in ashes after being set ablaze upon confiscation by forces of law and order.

The Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Paul Atanga supervised the destruction of the goods July 30 in Nsam, Yaounde.

Destined for the capital city from Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon, the MINAT boss praised the vigilance and bravery of the security forces in tracking the consignment of 1,614kg indian hemp.

“I think that this is a big catch. President Paul Biya during the last governor’s conference, was adamantly clear that we should stage a big fight against all this trafficking. It is extremely very dangerous to our environment and for our children,” the Minister said.

He admitted that the public destruction was a strong message that the government is determined to work out a mechanism to completely disrupt the chain of trafficking. And rejoiced at the success of the operation.
