Squads for FIFA Club World Cup 2023 officially unveiled
The squads that will compete in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia, have been officially unveiled by the world football governing body.
The seven participating clubs which include; Manchester City (England), Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia – hosts), Al Ahly (Egypt), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Club Leon (Mexico), Fluminense (Brazil), and Auckland City (New Zealand), each named 23 players.
A remarkable feature is that of Kevin Da Bruyne, who is expected to represent Manchester City in the tournament after sitting out since the beginning of the Premier League in August. The midfielder limped off in this year’s Champions League final against Inter Milan, after a hamstring injury.
The Club World Cup will kick off on December 12, with its final played on December 22.
The participating teams are the reigning champions of their respective confederations; the AFC, CAF, UEFA, CONCACAF, OFC, and CONMEBOL, except for Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad, who are the hosts.
