Soldiers survive bomb attack after responding to flag incident

Soldiers in Tobin, Kumbo, North West region are grateful to be alive after a bomb exploded on May 20th. The bomb, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), detonated as the soldiers approached the Tobin Gendarmerie brigade.
A group calling itself the “Bui Warriors” claimed responsibility, with a video appearing to show their plans to detonate the device.
Cameroon News Agency (CNA) learned that gendarmes had alerted the soldiers (BIR) that separatist fighters had raised their flag inside the brigade. As the soldiers moved in to take it down, the IED exploded.
Miraculously, no one was killed. CNA can confirm that one person suffered minor effects from the shock of the blast.
