SDF reveals Candidates to contest for National Chairman position
The Social Democratic Front political party, SDF, has officially revealed the candidates that will contest for the post of National Chairman.
These candidates were made known during a press conference on October 17, 2023, in Yaounde by the SDF Investiture Committee. This was in preparation for the Elective Convention come October 27-28, 2023.
The candidates that have been retained for the position include; Wouri Centre Member of Parliament, Hon Osih Joshua, SDF Limbe I Electoral District Chairman, Godden Zama, SDF Donga Mantung Divisional Coordinator, Shewa David.
Speaking to reporters during the press conference, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the convention, Njong Donatus, said: “I Feel very humbled that the last and most important assignment that our great leader, Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi, did on earth, was to assign me to take care of and ensure that the daunting task comes to fruition,”.
The three contestants vie for the position that was held by its first national Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi, who passed away on June 12, 2023. Before his death, he had announced that he would not be a candidate for the position of Chairman, giving hope to other members like the long-time First National Vice Chairman, Hon. Joshua Osih.
About 2400 Delegates are eligible to vote in next weeks elections.
