Riz Bijou Fortifie launches its nutrition and wellness program

Bijou Fortifié, Olam Agri’s leading brand of fortified rice in Cameroon, proudly announces the launch of its comprehensive Nutrition and Wellness Programme. This initiative is designed to address the nutritional needs of children and their parents, promoting healthy eating habits and overall well-being. Bijou Fortifié is enriched with essential nutrients such as zinc, iron, and vitamins B6, B12, and B3, making it a vital part of a healthy diet. Our mission is to provide nutritious food options that support the health and vitality of our consumers.
The Bijou Fortifié Nutrition and Wellness Programme has been established to engage with children and their parents on the importance of good nutrition. Through this programme, Bijou Fortifié will fully fulfill its nutritional role, which is its core purpose. The programme combines education and fun to highlight the importance of eating well and staying active.
Many adults today suffer from ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, and various types of cancer, often due to poor diet and bad habits acquired early in life. “We want to instill good eating habits in our children to ensure they grow up healthy and energetic,” said Carole Kouasseu, Marketing Manager at Olam Agri in Cameroon.
Through this programme, we plan to visit schools in Cameroon and the sub-region to educate children, teachers, and parents about good nutrition. We kicked off on December 11th at Duvaal School, with the technical support of nutritionist Dr. Fotso, an expert in nutrition and child education. The event was a great success, with children eager to welcome the Bijou Fortifié rice caravan and promising to share what they have learned with their parents. The teachers, now better understanding why some children are less attentive and tired in the early hours, have committed to promoting basic habits such as staying hydrated, eating breakfast, and choosing healthy foods.
The Bijou Fortifié rice caravan will continue its journey, bringing educational and entertaining activities to more schools, empowering young people to take charge of their well-being.
