Elite Two: Rangers FC gives reasons for team’s fall in open letter
Following Rangers FC’s below average performance in the 2023/2024 Elite two football season, the team has expressed regret and disappointment in an open letter.
The club revealed they were the first to voice their concerns about FECAFOOT’s management of football, and unfortunately experienced “backlash” and “poor treatment” in return.
The letter highlights that certain officials were assigned to matches with undisclosed lists, and the club repeatedly cried out against their unfair treatment. However, a single referee was still assigned to handle two matches for a particular club during the down playoffs.
This all resulted in the club being labeled in derogatory terms such as “les enemies dans la maison” (translation: the enemies within the house) and “Les gens qui detestent Eto’o” (translation: those who hate Eto’o).
Despite the circumstances, the club maintained their integrity and stood firm in their belief that fairness and truth should define them as a team and a community.
Rangers’ 3 years participation in the elite two championship has reached a cross road as the team will now be looking forward to relegation to the regional league.
The team finished last in pool B of the Elite two championship this season with 3 points, condemned to play the relegation playoffs where they haven’t done any better.
