About 22.000 temporary staff in public hospitals in Cameroon have threatened to halt all activities as of August 16 2022 should government stay mute to their plights.
In a release dated August 3rd, they denounce lack of health insurance, unpaid bonuses, and demand a minimum wage of 75000frs for all contract health workers as well as a matricule.
In the wait of a positive reaction, these contract health workers have decided not to participate in the removal of mortal remains on Thursdays and Fridays.
It is not the first time contract health workers are expressing such worries. In March 2022, they threatened to strike, in July they announced a halt in activities on August 2nd and now, they have made another announcement for August 16th.
