Public Entrance Exams: Scammers at work-don’t be fooled, Minister warns
By Stephen TADAHA
Cameroonians especially Youths, have been called upon to remain vigilant and avoid being scammed on the cyberspace.
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph Le, on his Facebook handle on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 drew the attention of Cameroonians on a fake recruitment into the Public Service that concerns the contractualization 10 000 Youths.
The information has been making rounds on social media and creating enthusiasm among Youths for the past days.
The Minister debunked the information, and called on the population to be vigilant and show a great sense of discernment.
He also reminded them that the official website of the Ministry which is www.minfopra.gov.cm, remains the only reliable source of information on competitive exams for the year 2023, in Cameroon.
This is not the first time scammers are using the cyberspace to attain their objectives. Back in the month of April 2019, scammers used a fake Facebook account in the Minister’s name announcing a national competitive exam to recruit 1000 Youths in each Region, making a total of 36 000 Youths nationwide.
The high rate of unemployment in Cameroon sometimes pushes the youths to fall into such true lies.
