Political analyst says national unity and integration in Cameroon is a failure

A political analyst, SHUNNEH SIAKA has declared he is one of those who believe national unity and integration in Cameroon is only real in theory but has regrettably failed in its implementation. This to him is the reason why people from North West and South West regions regret being united to East Cameroon.

“Wherever our forefathers are, I am sure they are regretting ever accepting with genuine or pure intention to reunite with their Francophone brothers who betrayed the trust for equal governance and benefits with Anglophones marginalized and treated as second class citizens” Mr Siaka said speaking with CNA.

According to the politician, failed implementation of national unity and integration cannot be blamed on the government or Parliament of Cameroon but on a group of unscrupulous Francophones in the Biya administration.

“There are some persons in the Biya government, persons from the Francophone origin, who don’t have Anglophones at heart. They go as far as calling them “Anglo fools” for accepting reunification with a pure intention. Most of them have today turned to be capitalists. They have capitalized on the Anglophone crisis to become millionaires. They keep fanning it to become billionaires” he added

Mr Siaka believes that the president of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya in his efforts to end the crisis should go in-depth to uproot such ill-intentioned members of his administration.

This he expects should be concretized by continuous dialogue to stop bloodshed and tensions for national unity and integration to be felt equally across the country.
