PM urges diaspora to stop funding separatist groups

Ebune Confiance, Director of Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s office and special envoy of PM Joseph Dion Ngute has urged separatist leaders out of Cameroon to stop financing banditry and terrorism at home. He encouraged this group of persons to use their resources for constructive purposes enhancing local development of their various villages.

Minister Ebune Confiance once again used the opportunity to implore separatist fighters to drop their weapons and leave the bushes for nation building alongside the Cameroonian government. He assured the youth still fighting the government in bushes that President Paul Biya’s hands are still widely open to embrace repentant separatist fighters. An opportunity Mr Ebune Confiance stressed should not be ignored.

The PM’s representative was speaking during an elective general assembly of the South West Chiefs’ Conference on July 16, 2022 which took place in Buea after four years of suspension due to rising insecurity.

Chief Obenefonde Moses of Bajo village in Eyumojock sub-division of the Manyu Division, South West region took over as President of the South West Chiefs’ Conference. He and his team are expected to work with the chiefs to help reconcile communities and restore peace, normalcy as well as lead development projects.
