PIB: Bamboutos division tails the West Region in execution rate
By Stephen TADAHA
The execution rate of projects under the Public Investment Budget, PIB, in the Bamboutos stands at just 32,37% and puts the division at the bottom in the West Region.
The revelation was made on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in Mbouda, during a meeting to assess the level of project executions under the PIB in the Bamboutos.
The meeting which gathered all 4 council mayors and all stakeholders in the public contracts evaluation chain, was presided over by the Senior Divisional Officer for Bamboutos, David Dador Dibango.
The administrative boss frowned at the slowness in the execution of the projects and recommended the involvement of divisional officers of all four subdivisions in the realization of the said projects in the administrative units.
This comes after it was noticed that many projects like those linked to road rehabilitations, the construction of bridges in disenclaved zones like Mbedong in the Galim subdivision, the foot of Mount Bamboutos in the Babadjou Subdivision are being executed at a very slow rate or not executed at all. This situation has made life difficult for inhabitants, especially farmers in accessing markets with their farm products.
Also to accelerate the process, October 10, 2023, has been given as the deadline for the deposit of project maturation files at the regional delegation of economy, planning, and regional development, and October 5, 2023, given as the deadline for municipal councils to deposit theirs at the Divisional delegation of economy, planning, and regional development.
