Personalities speak on Nacho killing
Some Cameroon personalities have spoken out on the gruesome killing of 10 people on the evening of July 16, 2023.
“I will like on behalf of the head of state to condemn strongly this attack. Measures are being taken to locate these barbaric attackers and sanction them in keeping the laws of the republic,” North West governor said.
He went ahead to reassure the population of relative calm in the region
His Grace Andrew Nkea of the Archdiocese of Bamenda and president of the Episcopal Conference, Cameroon, said; “I have always said that love is better than hatred, life is better than death, and loving one another is better than killing one another,”.
Human Rights lawyer, Barrister Agbor Felix condemned this act stating that; “The indiscriminate killing of more than 8 civilians at Nacho Junction in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon is unacceptable. This widespread and systematic killing of civilians is gradually becoming the new normal,”.
“We must condemn the perpetrators of these gruesome, inhumane, and dastardly acts in the strongest terms. Human life is sacrosanct and the combatants must ensure that the civilian population is protected. Such killings in an attempt to terrorize the civilian population amounts to a crime against humanity,” he continued.
