PCC brouhaha: Minister Mbah Acha tells complainers to petition Board of Trustees
By Nchendzengang Tatah
In a response to issues relating to the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon(PCC), it’s present leadership and critical outings of some church members on the social media, Minister Mbah Acha Rose said grievances if legitimate should be addressed to appropriate quarters. Which she said is the church’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Mola Kinge Jacob.
The minister of Supreme State Audit, who is also a member of the PCC’s Board of Trustees, stated that the organ had the capacity to look into their worries. She made the comment in a CRTV documentary on the leadership of the outgoing Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Fonki Samuel Forba, first aired on October 5.
Her reaction comes after some 15 influential church members signed an online circulating letter on October 2, addressed to the PCC Moderator in which they gave a 72 hours altumetum. Warning the outgoing church leader to resign, citing his alleged actions which they believed were grievous.
Elections into the church’s highest ranking offices begins October 12, with presbytery meetings where nominations shall be made for the next Moderator and Synod Clerk. Elections will then take place in a synod meeting on November 13-15, 2024. In which, the current Moderator will not be eligible to obtain a third five-year mandate according to the church’s constitution.
