Payment to clubs only after presentation of supporting documents FECAFOOT insists

The Cameroon Football Federation – FECAFOOT, has announced that they are currently paying out money to clubs strictly upon submission of supporting documents.

Reacting after several club presidents had complained of financial crisis in their respective clubs due to delay of financial assistance from the federation, FECAFOOT said an advance payment of the money will be made.

“Regarding the support of the federation to elite clubs, the Emergency Committee decided to grant the entire third installment in advance to all the clubs of our MTN Elite One championship,” FECAFOOT indicated during a meeting on March 6.

The national football governing body pointed out that the first two installments had already been disbursed, though some clubs were yet to receive their subventions as a result of delays to submit the necessary documents.

The misunderstanding between the federation and clubs over finances, has been dragging on for a while now. Some clubs have gone as far as threatening to boycott the rest of the current season.

UMS of Loum announced their withdrawal a month ago, though it did not happen, saying FECAFOOT had plunged the club into a crisis.

“The federation gives us rendezvous which they don’t respect. No information, they don’t tell us anything. Players protest, making us understand that we receive money from the federation which is supposed to be used to pay them, whereas there is nothing,” the Loum outfit said in a statement.

The league championship is presently going on unperturbed, though clubs continue to call on the federation to pay all their dues.
