Panic grips Yaounde a coups rise across Francophone African countries
The government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Communication has strongly condemned analyses of certain political analysts on media platforms, hailing the recent military coups in some African countries and making prophesies the wind will blow across other countries including Cameroon.
In a communiqué September 25, 2023, Cameroon’s Communication Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi, said that Cameroon is a state of law, endowed with democratic institutions with mechanisms clearly defining the accession to power procedure.
Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi, underlined that the government condemns without reservation any seizure of power by unconstitutional means. Thus, warned people from ‘walking on the edge of the blade’ and making ludicrous predictions about the fate of Cameroon, which could be similar to calls aim at destabilizing the state, which will justify their arrest and trial before the courts in accordance with laws and regulations in force.
The government in the MINCOM communiqué called for vigilance and patriotism of all citizens. It also invites citizens to remain confident and trust the institutions of the Republic of Cameroon, and not withstanding, their leaders who are responsible for presiding over the destiny of the nation.
