Outrage in Small Babanki as hired Amba kill villager

Leo Vishi Newuh, was doing well and always looking out for the interest of villagers in Kedjom Ketinguh, popularly known as Small Babanki I’m the north west region.
But on Monday , he was kidnapped by Ambazonia separatist fighters who left neighbouring Bamessing village to pick him up in what CNA learned was a scores settling by some villagers.
His junior brother, Kingsley Newuh told CNA that the incident was a shock to them. It came barely 24 hours after his late brother advised village leaders to stop unnecessary taxes levied in the people and instead work for their good.
“He was kidnapped yesterday morning [Monday] and then they called us his family members using his phone. They asked for a ransom of 10 million and gave us 1 hour. We were scrambling to see how much we could raise and within 30 minutes or so, we got news that they had shot him”. Kingsley said.
Sources add that when the kidnappers called the brains behind his killing were with the fighters, as witnessed by some villagers who begged not to be named. These two men were named bu the victim on phone before his death.
Leo Newuh was kidnapped and killed within a maximum of 3 hours, leaving the family devastated.
“When he spoke to us, he called the names of two people that they were responsible for his death. It turns out these two people were with the Amba when he was killed and they are now claiming they were also kidnapped.” Kingsley revealed.
Leo Newuh was in-law to popular Cameroonian journalist, Mimi Mefo, who got married to his Junior brother, Kingsley Sheteh Newuh.
The entire village is mourning and dancing answers. Separatist fighters who said they are fighting against the Yaounde regime have in the past years been involved in massive kidnappings for ransom, killings and torture.
Some people are now using them to settle scores with those they don’t like in their communities.
It is believed that this was scores settling.
