Olembe Stampede: Indomitable Lions fulfill their FCFA 50 million promise

Fecafoot president, Samuel Eto’o and the indomitable Lions have handed the sum of FCFA 50 million by Cheque to victims of the Olembe stampede of January 25, 2022.

During the ceremony in Yaounde on June 10, Samuel Eto’o Fecafoot president said “The lives lost during the Cameroon-Comoros game will forever be in our hearts and every goal is dedicated to them”

In January during the 8th final of the 2021 AFCON at Olembe, 8 persons died and 36 others sustained injuries in a stampede according to government sources as many forced their way into the stadium to support the indomitable lions.
The national team’s captain, Vincent Aboubakar had announced a FCFA 50 million donation to assist persons affected “We know how Cameroonians love their team. We cannot bring back the dead but we will never forget them”

One month after the stampede, president Paul BIYA disbursed 84.700 million to families of the dead and injured victims.
