OCHA blames Mamfe hospital arson attack on suspected separatists

A press release from the ad interim Resident Coordinator, Office for the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, Cameroon said that the perpetrators of the fire outbreak were suspected separatist fighters in Mamfe.

The ealry Thursday fire burned almost entire structure of the hospital except the newly constructed pharmacy by Doctors Without Borders and the mortuary.

OCHA says it is forbidden to attack hospitals, adding that the structure served norw than 85, 000 people around the area.

OCHA further reveals that at least 5 health facilities have been attacked since January 2022 in the Anglophone regions.
