After nearly 75 years of silence, the traditional rites of Mfe have been revived, awakening ancestral spirits and ushering in a new era of prosperity.
The historic coronation of Fon Chepnda Ronald was marked by grandeur, unity, and cultural pride.
The event began with a thunderous welcome for the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) of Donga-Mantung, Baseliken George Emmanuel Magloire, and his distinguished delegation, including those in Nwa Sub Division led by the Divisional Officer Esapa Jim Esapa and the Mayor Menyong Lawrence.
As they arrived, symbolic brooms swept the road, a gesture of honor and cleansing, while jubilant voices and rhythmic chants filled the air with celebrations.
The SDO was warmly received with a handshake by the notables before the crowd erupted in dance and celebration.
After the singing of the national anthem and the presentation of a bouquet, the SDO officially installed Fon Chepnda Ronald through an administrative order from the Ministry of Territorial Administration, headed by Minister Paul Atanga Nji.
This historic act marked the beginning of a new chapter in the annals of Mfe’s history.
Mandate from the Administration
In his address, the SDO tasked the newly installed Fon with two vital responsibilities:
- To create a committee comprising the Ardor of Mfe to resolve the long-standing farmer-grazier conflict, fostering peace and stability.
- To ensure the smooth organization and participation of the people of Mfe in the upcoming October 12, 2025, Presidential Election.
The coronation was a vibrant showcase of unity and heritage
Religious dance groups performed their intricate steps, followed by presentations from the Fulani community, the Muslim faithful, and the Matitic dancers from Gom. Sons and daughters of Mfe, both at home and abroad, also graced the stage, proudly exhibiting their cultural identity.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a brand-new car to Fon Chepnda Ronald, offered by the Mfe Cultural Development Association (MFEDEVASS) under the leadership of Mr. Ngirem Robert, symbolizing the people’s love and support.
As the SDO and his delegation departed, they were honored with waves of appreciation and lively dances from the crowd.
The second phase of the event transformed into a festival of joy, with songs, dances, and cultural displays filling the ceremonial grounds.
Amid the jubilation, all eyes remained fixed on Fon Chepnda Ronald, who stood tall with gratitude and determination.
His unopposed selection and grand coronation were clear signs of the people’s unwavering love and trust.
A Bright Future Ahead
The successful coronation of Fon Chepnda Ronald was more than just a ceremony; it was a renewal of unity, identity, and hope for the people of Mfe.
With his leadership, the community looks forward to peace, development, and a brighter future.
