Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union installs in Limbe, honors meritorious staff

A new branch of the Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Ltd (NtaCCUL), CEMAC’s leading microfinance giant was inaugurated March 28 in Limbe, chief town of Fako Division, South West region. The imposing structure housing the NtaCCUL branch is strategically carved at the heart of the town. It is situated almost opposite the Regional Hospital, Mile One Limbe.

The purple colors of NtaCCUL filled the official opening ceremony carried out by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Viang Mekala. A ceremony which also had the award of national honors to eight staff for dutiful service.

Mr Viang Mekala congratulated the NtaCCUL leadership for spreading their tentacles to Limbe. He saluted the category 1 microfinance institution for its modest contribution to nation-building. Which he highlighted included payment of salaries of over 3500 civil servants and a rewarding interest rate on savings of up to 6%. The Fako SDO told the Union’s management not to relent in revitalizing businesses and empowering persons towards self-reliance, such that the living standards of the community are improved. To the eight NtaCCUL staff decorated – three of whom received Silver Guild Labour Medals of Honor and five, Silver Labour Medals of Honor- he encouraged them to continue serving with diligence.

Figures that speak
The interest rates of NtaCCUL, which stands at 6% – according to its president, Akumah Miranda Bill Esq, speak a lot about its intent to give back to its members and communities. She mentioned that the membership stood at 104,107 persons as of December 2024. With a whooping 34,426,888,059 CFA as shares, 56,084,831,087 CFA as savings, deposits of up to 5,799,894,900 CFA and loans worth 4,244,391,118 CFA.

President Akumah further stated that the Union prides itself as a digitalized financial institution. Which runs an online app and the USSD platform, wherein members can operate their accounts throughout the day. She went on to express gratitude to Go,d who had multiplied the fourteen founding members in 1972 to 19 branches in 2025. NtaCCU,L she stated, is employment for 203 people in its branches planted across six regions of Cameroon. The microfinance institution presents itself as the leader in the CEMAC subregion. The Union’s president, in a similar way, did not fail to acknowledge the managerial fortitude of the General Manager, Muma Ade Divine.

Speaking to the press, GM Muma explained that the startling figures of the Union showed that it had funds to finance projects in the area. He went on to establish that, their over fifty years in the sector had them accumulate significant financial prowess with which they will support the steaming industrialization and growth of Limbe.
