12 bags of cannabis intercepted by authorities in Bafoussam

The bags each contained 250kg of cannabis and were intercepted by custom officials in the West region particularly in the town of Bafoussam.

Shoes supposedly destined for sales in the markets were used to cover the cannabis sealed in transparent plastic bags. They were being transported in a bus travelling from Bamenda to Yaounde. The West custom agents on duty on June 21st night say at about 1:00AM they stopped the bus for a routine control and this resulted in the discovery of the cannabis. The 12 bags were offloaded and taken to the West custom office for subsequent destruction.

After congratulating the agents on their relentless vigilance, Sadou Oumaroun Chief of the West Custom Bureau implored the population to quickly report any form of trafficking or suspicious activity so that the orchestrators are apprehended.
